35TH ANNIVERSARY AND 2024 MAIN UGNAYAN

At the CCF Main Center, FOCIG celebrated its 35th anniversary and Annual General Assembly (Ugnayan) on October 23, 2024. The event, which lasted all day, was graced by 224 public servants from various government agencies and FOCIG friends, partners, volunteers, and supporters, who demonstrated enthusiasm and resilience as they braved the onslaught of Typhoon Kristine to be at the venue. Others from the provinces joined the event online.

The key speaker, Anthony N. Pangilinan, challenged everyone with “Mentoring the Youth on Holistic Leadership, Good Governance, and Nation-Building.” His daughter, Hannah Pangilinan, chipped in with “Ways to Motivate the Youth to Learn and Serve”.

Another highlight of the gathering was the presentation of the Tripartite Memorandum of Agreement of Fellowship of Christians in Government (FOCIG), Christians for Nation Building (C4NB), led by PGen. Cesar Binag (Ret.), and Mayors for Good Governance (M4GG), convened by Baguio City Mayor Benjie Magalong. The agreement, which was signed on October 14, 2024, at the AFP Civil Relations Service office, aims to focus on training and developing the youth through values-driven seminars to share the Gospel and prepare them to be godly leaders and become future prime movers of patriotism, integrity, excellence, and spirituality of our country. PGen. Binag also shared what C4NB has been doing toward this goal. The participants were also challenged by testimonies from DepEd Principal Greg Racelis and C4NB youth leader Laurence Balangue.

Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano gave the closing remarks. Bishop Noel Pantoja, National Director of the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC), challenged the participants to continue partnering with FOCIG through prayer and financial support.

Also part of this event was FOCIG’s Annual Meeting, where 35 public servants were presented as official members. President & CEO Niels Patrick C. Riconalla gave the Annual Report, and five (5) nominees were elected to the Board of Trustees.

Thanks to FOCIG sponsors, raffle prizes were given away to grateful attendees.
